Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
I'm an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and can test dogs for S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine GOod Citizen (CGC), Community Canine (CGCA), and Urban Canine . These are all titles your dog can earn. Learn more about the CGC test on the AKC's website.

Shy/Fearful Dogs
Does your dog have a fear of getting in the car, meeting new people, going to the vet? Does your dog cower or hide when its afraid or exhibit extreme stress signs such as drooling, vocalization, chewing? Sometimes, something happened in a dog's past that made them afraid or they didn't receive proper socialization as a youngster that their owners don't know about.
This class helps dogs overcome their fears. We work on building confidence and help them understand there isn't anything to be afraid of, especially when their human is around. Mom or dad has their back! It's important for owners to understand what their dog is going through and to have realistic expectations of how they "should" act.
A private lesson or behavior consulation might be needed prior to attending a group class.

Reactive Dogs
I work with a lot of dogs, and their humans, who react poorly to new situations, people, other dogs, etc. A dog is being a dog and only reacting in it's own way to something it doesn't understand or in a situation that makes him/her extremely anxious.
This group class helps dogs react better (gives them options) abd make better decisions. It also heps the owners see things from their dog's perspective and teaches owners skills to help their dogs. My goal is for owners to be PRO-active, not RE-active. (The dog is also ready reacting.) We work on modifying undesired behavior (barking, jumping) to a more calm behavior, such as sitting, paying attention to their human, or going to their "spot."
